Don't let your dream house turn into your nightmare
You move into your house with the dream of one day remodeling it. After years of sacrifice, you finally have the money to remodel. This remodel will turn your home into your dream home. Beautiful staircases, beautiful floors, spacious kitchen, open space living room, beautiful backyard. A home your children and grandchildren can come live in, visit and/or enjoy.
You hire a designer. Your designer designs your dream home. You approve the design because your designer gets it, gets you! Your designer submits the project to your local building department for approval. You wait anxiously for approval to get started remodeling your dream home. You count the days and each day you go to bed and wake up hoping that tomorrow is the day of approval. Then a day comes and a phone call comes but it's not the day or the phone call you were expecting.
Your designer tells you that the city building department rejected their design.
You’re heartbroken. You ask why? Because unbeknownst to your designer the exterior of your home needs a planning approval because you live in a scenic area? Now an application needs to be submitted for approval from another department and another board and your designer has no idea how to do this. Now, you’re not only disappointed but stressed. You no longer see your dream remodel coming true.
If this is your nightmare, it was Susans too.
She was ready to remodel her home to her dream home. She hired a designer. Designer submitted the plans to her local building department for approval only for them to be rejected because she lives in the Mulholland Scenic Parkway Specific Plan area. Her designer had no idea how to submit for approval the necessary paperwork to the Design Review Board as she had never had a client that lived in that area.
Susan searched online for someone who could do what her designer could not. An expert who could handle the Design Review Board and make her dream home come true. She finally came across us, Building Permit Expeditor, the Permit Angels. We filled out the necessary applications, partnered with her designer to provide the required plans, and stayed in constant communication with the planning staff so that we could get her through the board hearing to receive her approval. Since she was assigned a permit angel, that permit angel was then able to complete the building permit process that her designer had started and get her permit approved by the board so that construction could begin on her dream home.
Susan thought her dream would never come true but thanks to us and our expertise, her dream was able to become a reality and the stress was alleviated. Her interior designer was great but wasn’t a permit expert so this was outside of the designers scope of expertise. Outside of theirs, right inside of ours.
